Sandra Cuevas Calls for Unity in Opposition

Sandra Cuevas, former mayor of Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City, sent a message urging unity among the opposition and mentioned that people who do not live in Mexico should not be candidates. During a press conference, she called on political figures such as Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo, Xóchitl Gálvez, Claudio X. González, and Eduardo Verástegui not to split the vote and to unite for the good of the country.

"I want to send a message to the opposition political actors: (Guadalupe) Acosta Naranjo, Xóchitl Gálvez, Claudio X. González, Eduardo Verástegui, it is time for decisions, let’s not divide the vote any further, do not waste more time," Cuevas commented at the Bankers' Club in CDMX. She emphasized that those who do not live in Mexico and do not truly know the country should not aspire to political positions because they do not experience the problems and realities of the people.

Cuevas formally presented her Organization for the Family and Safety of Mexico, clarifying that it will not be a political party and that she will issue a call for candidates seeking public office in CDMX. She also announced the creation of her company, Sandra Cuevas Diamond Group, which will finance the organization. The former mayor called for unity and for forming a true opposition to confront Morena.

At another moment, Cuevas launched a tirade against Ricardo Monreal, the current coordinator of the Morena bench in the Chamber of Deputies, accusing him of betrayal, threats, and negotiating against her. She expressed feeling betrayed by Monreal, with whom she worked in the past, and lamented that their relationship was affected. Cuevas stated that she will seek justice and reveal more details about this situation in the future.
